Strive4 Academy Trust and its schools undertake to provide a friendly and safe environment in which children will be helped to achieve their potential, both academically and socially. We recognise, however, that sometimes things can go wrong and sometimes someone needs to make a complaint or raise concerns they have. This policy outlines how to pursue a complaint if this happens.
The aim of this policy is to set out the Trust’s commitment to meet its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other health and safety legislation to provide safe and healthy working conditions for employees, and to ensure that their work does not adversely affect the health and safety of other people such as pupils, visitors and contractors.
Our policy applies to all staff, Trustees, governors and volunteers working in the Trust.
Our duties and responsibilities as set out within the Education Act 2002 sec 175 and 157, DfE Statutory Guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016 and HM Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 and are incorporated into this policy.
Strive4 is committed to achieving the highest possible standards of service and ethical standards and this policy will enable concerns of serious wrongdoing to be raised without fear of reprisal. This policy applies to all individuals working for the Trust at all levels and grades, whether they are employees, contractors, and casual or agency staff.
Whistleblowing is distinct from the grievance procedure which should be used if the complaint relates to personal circumstances in the workplace. Concerns about wrongdoing within Strive4 such as fraud, malpractice, mismanagement, breach of health and safety law or any other illegal or unethical act either on the part of management, the Governing Body or by fellow employees should be raised using this procedure.
